so much pretty: family dinner

These photo were all taken yesterday at my parents' house. We were up for a family dinner (we missed you Leo, Kristy & Kyle!) I love hanging out with my sister and wish she would just succumb already and move back to Greenville. I took Stargirl's and she took mine. These photos were also all taken on my point and shoot . (I think my arm looks so gross in that photo. I'm holding it at a weird angle or something. I do eat.) We'll start with Stargirl. She's wearing clothes. Pretty clothes. Her outfit was inspired by me, because, I'm extremely fashionable. Why are you laughing at me???  You want the real story, you'll just have to wait for her to email me the deets. Also, in this photo, she is sticking her tongue out trying not to laugh out loud because I told her to not smile.  Stargirl is wearing red shoes. Does everyone own red shoes but me? My nikes have red on them--does that count? I really loved Stargirl's multi-chain necklace. I

so much pretty: polyvore

1-28-11 by Tiffany Anne Kuechenmeister featuring buckle belts This is basically what I wore today. Nothing is the same brand, but you get the idea. :) I don't have a camera with me, except on my iPod and my phone, so I thought this would work better. Polyvore is a fun website where you can put together outfits, much like you see above. Except, maybe you'll be better than me. I'm not that good at it, but it's pretty fun.

so much pretty: playing model

On Monday, I had a photo shoot with a model at this awesome old building. My friend and fellow photog Erin came along and snapped a few pictures of me. After which I seized her and made here take more and more and more. I don't know which I like better--being in front of the camera, or behind the camera? And yes, I wore gloves while shooting. My fingers were getting cold ! Dontcha wish your photog was hot like me! Ahem. Excuse me. Moving on... Leggings. IN PUBLIC. See, I told you I could do it! This is the only top I'll wear the leggings with because it's the only one I own that's long enough. Everything else is almost but not quite there. I'm wearing the brown sweater OVER a lavender sweater. Unique choice, I know, but I needed layering because I thought I might get annoyed with and take off my coat while shooting. (I was right.) The scarf is a hand-me-down from an old roomie and one of my absolute favorites. You know what this photo says to

so much pretty: tights of the hot pink variety

***Note: for those of you who are wondering about the influx of style posts on your readers, So Much Pretty has been moved from an individual blog to a feature on this blog.*** I wore this outfit to ladies' bible study this morning. So many friends commented on my PINK legs. "It's my New Year's Resolution," I said, "to dress more creatively."  I love how the scarf ties in with the tights! There's just a touch of pink in that scarf that's the same color. What? What's that you say? I need to find a new pair of boots for pete's sake? Yes, I know. Please send me a pair. I really want grey suede boots or black engineer boots. Where did my head go? Well, I'm a little limited when I do self-portraits. We'll call this artsy. Did I like this outfit? Yes! I was able to dress cute and still be comfortable. I'm always comfortable in this cardigan. Also, I tied my belt a la Elaine . This belt tying thing is a new fascina

so much pretty: floral tights. yessir

Yes. Floral tights. This stuff is legit fashion. I mean, who walks around with their legs looking like cheap wallpaper? Um, that would be me. And I loved every minute of it. I bought these tights last night on an expedition for tights with my friend, Anne Marie . These were the only fun tights we found that were not $20 (Ugh, for tights? No thank you, I'm too cheap. And I'm not afraid to admit it. Apparently...) Unfortunately, they were in my size and not her's. But with her permission, I swooped them up and was determined to wear them to church. Without an inkling of an idea of how people wear these tights. There is no yellow in the tights. They're gray with pink flowers and green leaves. There might even be a little blue--but no yellow. I was going to wear something very neutral, or at least a top that drew from a color that was on the tights. However, I work up wanting to wear this shirt. I did and it totally worked. Did I love this outfit? A m

wee bit wednesday v29.

{one} name one thing you worry about running out of. I don't really worry. I've got a shopping list next to the fridge and I write down what I need there. Sure, sometimes I forget to pick up the saran wrap or something, but nothing vital. If i had to choose, it's be TP. I would hate to run out of toilet paper. {two} what is your favorite pizza topping? sundried tomatoes! {three} what is your favorite harrison ford movie? I love this question. Who doesn't love Harrison Ford? It's hard to pick just one, but I really have a thing for Indiana Jones. {four} apple juice or orange juice? Orange juice. Apple just is usually too sweet for my taste. But really, I'd choose water over the two. {five} what’s your favorite thing to do on a sunday afternoon? Be lazy with my baby and then have family over for dinner. {six} what is the wallpaper on your cellphone of? some weird but pretty abstract design. {seven} do you have a favorite tv commercial? Right now it&

I've officially found my runner's high! I feel great!

Yes. Erm, well, maybe my Nike+ mini has found her runner's high, but I'm still looking for mine. I'm just happy that she's no longer lounging around playing paddle ball and being bored. I ran again yesterday. As a whole, it was not terrible. Parts of it sure felt terrible, though. I ran 2.45 miles in 30 minutes. And when I say, "I ran," I mean, "I ran a little but mostly walked." Do you run? or do you think that running is a waste of time? Do you wish you could start running but just can't find any motivation? Are you a new runner or a veteran? I'm a new runner, this you know. I'm pretty motivated, but I don't know what movtivates me. I think that it's largely due to wanting to get in the habbit of being fit before I have babies. I don't particularly like running, but I like my running clothes & shoes. I need some new songs to run to, mine bore me. I can run for about 2 minutes tops before I have to slow back down

Running

I don't know whether or not I've ever mentioned that I don't like running. I mean, I do NOT like running. At all. But, well, you read my New Year's Resolutions , right? Running, it's on there. So, I went out and bought a pair of Nikes from a legit running store. I bought a Nike+ for my shoe. And now that all of that money has been shelled out to get me started running, I might as well have a go. Because of a huge snow storm that I have yet to blog about, I haven't be able to use my new toys for a whole week. I suppose, technically, I could have gone to the gym. But, really, I get nervous going to the gym--especially doing something for the first time! I'm afraid I'll look stupid and out of place. But, really, no one else cares what I'm doing. They're focused on doing their own thing. Anyway, yeah, I went running. On a treadmill. To be honest, it was mostly walking. But, still, I don't hate life. So, that equals a major success for m

so much pretty: grecian-ish headband

The main focus of this post, really, is this headband. Super cute, right? It's really my first time wearing a headband on top of my hair, and I think I'd like to try it more! I wore this outfit because I needed something simple. You might have seen me wearing the exact same thing (except the headband) on our inaugural blog post . Also, I have to say, I love these photos. I took all of them while sitting on my favorite bench.  I think I may have gotten the hang of self-portraits. I'm backlit by the window and I've got a 580 exII flash to light me up from the front. I really love how they look! Did I like this outfit? Yes, of course. It's so simple and classic. The headband, however, I didn't really like. I love the look, but it was too loose and an hour of after putting it on, I took it off! Old headband. I have no idea where I got it. Also, Mossimo turtleneck, Refuge skinny jeans, and Madden Girl boots (a gift from Stargirl) And on Bel

wee bit wednesday v28.

{one}  have you ever been on tv? When I lived in Iceland, I was on TV a little bit. Our base was 2 square miles and things like Girl Scouts singing at the nursing home was on the news.  {two}  what was the best movie you saw last year? Love Aaj Kal, definitely. {three}  do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out? Tucked in, definitely! I hate to have my sheets untucked. {four}  do you cut coupons? I sure do! And I have Mrs. A's coupon organizer! {five}  do you ever count your steps when you walk? No, but I often counted stairs when I was a kid. {six}  what sauce do you dip your chicken nuggets in? Barbeque {seven}  do you have any magazine subscriptions? Popular Photography, Redbook, Prevention, and Southern Living {eight}  when was the last time you wrote a letter on paper? I have no idea. But I recently got a penpal, so I'll probably be writing letters on paper more often! {nine}  what’s your favorite fruit pie? Um, apple, I guess? I don't have fruit pie that

so much pretty: Snow day!

What is this pose? I don't know. You may suspect that it is due to the excitement of having decent snow accumulation in South Carolina (about 6-7 so far and it's still falling). Or perhaps I've been playing too much dance central. While both of those may be true, I was trying to take a jumping photo all by myself and it's hard to tell when the timer is about to go off. So...fail. Look! I wore makeup for this one! I actually took all the photos, looked at them, deleted the close-ups of my face, did my makeup, and then went back outside to take more photos. Its actually a little pet peeve of mine when style bloggers don't bother to make their hair or face look nice at all. So, really, I should follow suit and slap on some mascara. Look at all this snow! Here in SC, when it snows this much everything shuts down. Even the mall is closed today! And for some reason, people seem to think that the street is their playground. My husband nearly ran people over
