It's the G.I. Jive!

This past weekend was a much anticipated weekend for me. It was the G.I. Jive ! The Greenville Lindy Hoppers worked their butts off and put together a fabulous weekend of swing dancing right here at home! This was rather exciting for me as I no longer travel to dance--something most dancers do. It was fun to dress up for this vintage themed weekend. Friday night @ the UpCountry History Museum When someone asked me what I was dressed up as on Friday night, I would tell them that I was the "wildly talented but admittedly lesser-known Asian Andrews Sister." LOL. Saturday afternoon @ Furman University amphitheater (dancing w/ Woo) Saturday afternoon. Ugh. It was SO hot! Dancing outside mid-day was just absolutely insane. But it was so much fun and so worth it. And luckily I had this oh-so-cute dress that my momma made! Saturday night, I was going to wear a cute forties-ish dress, but I ended up going with wide-leg yoga pants (great for dancing!) and a tee. There w

Vicious neighbor doggies

I've been wanting to go for walks in our neighborhood since we moved here. I'd love to be able to just pop out the front do and go on a little walk. Mike and I talked about it and decided that I would probably be able to do that once we got a dog. The hesitancy to go on a solo walk is due to the neighborhood in which I live. It's that kind of neighborhood. While we love it here, we're not about to take unnecessary risks, either. Well, a few days after we got Bella, Mike and I went for a walk together. And, oh boy, you don't realize how vicious neighbor dogs are when you're in your car. When you walk past them with your little 20lb doggie on a leash...you notice. There are four pit-mixes that live across the street from us. And a dog or two that live behind us. (We're on the tip of a wedge-shaped piece of property.) Our neighbor dogs, despite their breeding, don't seem to pose any immediate threat. They seem to be very friendly with anyone who t

If you are reading this, and you are overwhelmed with a desire to purchase this pin for me...please do not hold back. Ugh, so cute. There are all sorts of pins. I picked a few cute ones, but there's everything from birds and hedgehogs to robots and gnomes. Gamer

Game shows

I'm pretty sure that if Mike and I ever got to go on Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy (on a good night) we would totally clean house.

Meet Bella!

So, we Kueches have been thinking about getting a dog for a while now. I have been doing my fair share of browsing on the humane society (HS) website, craigslist, etc, looking for available dogs. We also went to the HS a few days ago to meet some of their dogs. It wasn't that successful of a trip, but we were planning on going a few times to try and figure out what kind of dog we would like. When we left for the HS today, Mike looked at me and said, "Now keep this in mind. We are not coming home with a dog today." We just wanted to look again, but did not want to rush into anything. One dog turned out to be quite the jumper. Seriously! We walked up to her cage with a leash and she was jumping at least three feet in the air--maybe more. She was running and pulling us all over the place. She was good, but a little too hyper for us. Next, we walked an adorable little terrier that looked just likemy parents' dog, Hootie . She was so dang cute and sweet and well-beha

ZOE: If I'm gonna wear a dress, I'd want something with some slink . WASH: You want a slinky dress? I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress? JAYNE: I'll chip in. ZOE: I can hurt you.  [ source ]

After this...popsicles!

[ source ] I'm in the middle of a great evening. I haven't been able to make anything really yummy for my hubby lately. Thing's have just been a little busy around here. So, tonight, I wanted to make him something yummy and I whipped up some chicken kiev (baked at 375 ° for 30m, Missy!) It was, of course, delish. As I was setting the table, Mike went over to the wine cooler and decided to pop open a bottle of merlot. And then he said to me, "It's a little dark in here," (which it wasn't) "maybe you could light some candles?" Good food? Wine? Candles? I was totally swooning. I had this goofy little grin on my face, because, well, I love good time spend with my husband. The chicken kiev was great. I used less chicken than the recipe called for, so the chicken was really buttery and lemony--but not too much! Delicious. :) After dinner, we sat out on the front porch. We sat for a while chatting and finishing our wine. We talked about
