self portrait project: how i spend an awful lot of my time

...editing photos, reading blogs, watching tv (currently Buffy the Vampire Slayer ), looking up recipes, blogging, refreshing Facebook. I'm usually a bit more hunched over too, probably. Don't tell my chiropractor... And I usually use a white MacBook, not a MacBook Air, but my computer was being repaired when I took this photo. My computer got fixed, by the way, in record time from the Apple Store! I dropped it off on Friday and they shipped it off to repair the back light on the screen and some broken plastic from a design flaw. I got it back on Wednesday looking as good as a new computer. Yay! :)  And, yes, for all this technology, that IS my film camera next to me. I still love shooting with film!

self portrait project

I took this photo yesterday. I was just playing around with off camera lighting and didn't have a model, so I used myself! (And, by the way, it's really annoying running back and forth to the camera because I don't have a wireless shutter release.) I have seen some amazing self portrait photographers, like Rosie Hardy for instance, and taking this simple self portrait yesterday made me thinking about having my own self portrait project. Certainly nothing like a 365...hahahahah! We all know I would fail at that. But maybe, every so often, I'll try to take a creative self portrait. I took two yesterday, so I've already got one lined up for tomorrow. Oh yeah. ;)

so much pretty: another jeans & white t-shirt outfit

I wrote in this post about how much I LOVE wearing the basic jeans & white t-shirt outfit and this is one such outfit. I wore this to work a few days ago and the girl at the computer next to mine commented on my shoes, which, by the way, I totally love. :) One thing I do really like about this outfit are my jeans. These are LOFT wide leg jeans that I got from eBay and hemmed to fit. I think I actually need to fix them again because one leg is a little bit too long. Ha-ha!  If I wear jeans to work, I only wear my wide leg jeans. They're both dark wash and they just look more put together than regular jeans. Of course, that doesn't really matter because my work dress code is non-exist-ant. I could wear my pajamas to work for all anyone cares, but I use work as an excuse to put together outfits for this blog. And then, of course, I forget to take photographs. Oh, also, I had to share my earrings. This is quite possibly my favorite pair of earrings

Early bedtimes

One thing I've learned is that I'm going to keep up with everything, I have *got* to get more sleep! So that's why I'm off to bed before it's even 10pm. Since I want to post at least a little something interesting, take a gander at Trippy.com. It's a website that I stumbled upon today. In fact, a lot of people probably stumbled upon it when Boo shared a photo wearing a trippy.com hoodie. It's basically Pinterest for traveling. Pretty cool, I think. And something else that I can happily get addicted to. :) Okay. Off to bed with this old lady.

lapse in posting...oops

So, I forgot to post anything Sunday or Monday. Oops. My brother's wedding was on Saturday and, as the photographer, it was a wonderful but very long day for me. Sunday, I spent my time yawning and church and playing picross (thanks for the suggestion, Stargirl. I'm an addict). Monday, it was back to my normal schedule. I forgot to take lunch to work, but luckily there are free snacks there. So, I snacked on a frappucino, cheetos, a banana, and starbursts. And now it's Tuesday. My day off. Insert blissful sigh here. Being busy really makes you grateful for the days you can sit at home on the couch again. Of course, while sitting on the couch I will be alternating between editing photos and folding laundry. Also, I'm very happy to be alone for almost the whole day. :) Oh, and Mike and I are going to see Les Miserables!

cooking with dog...love this youtube channel!

hey girl...

The Owl | Greenville, SC

Mike and I have been meaning to try the Owl for a while, but he's been wanting to wait until the switched over from their winter menu to their spring one. I couldn't describe the Owl better than the owners themselves, so I stole this from their description from The Owl's Facebook page: Opened in early 2012 by husband and wife team Aaron and Justi Manter, along with Joey Fazio. It's the restaurant/bar we wish existed, so we didn't have to make it ourselves.  Modern progressive dining. A little science here, a little craziness there.  We look to the future for flavor and find inspiration in the unorthodox. Fiercely independent.  Take fine dining out of the hands of the wealthy.  Mike and I had dinner at the Owl tonight. He had the duck and I had the lamb (pictured below). We also had the cheese appetizer and some yummy cheesecake for dessert. I'm no food critic, so I can't wax eloquently about my meal. Basically, it was wonderful. And, it was

twist and pin hair

I was going to take outfit photos today, but I forgot. I had my cute floral tights, denim skirt, pink beaded cami, black cardi, and adorable black pumps with bows on them. Never thought I'd actually buy a pair of shoes with bows on them, but I love these. My co-workers commented on how cute I always dress. Maybe I'll wear my pjs to work one of these days just to see if anyone notices. Ha. Anyway, I did my hair up "twist and pin" style after I showered. I did that so it would curl during the day and I could wear it curly tomorrow. We'll see how it holds up through 'til morning, though...

lazy blogger blogs about her new job

So, Mary is currently doing this 30 day challenge thing on her blog wherein, basically, she has to blog everyday. Even if it is a short lame little post. And, well, as one who cannot ever accomplish challenges, I decided to copy cat her. Naturally. Also, I'm twin B. Copying twin A is my thing. Oh, you want to start forming arms? SO DO I. Also, I've been a lazy blogger, so hopefully this will jump start things. Again. Anywhoo, my snippet for the day is that I have a new job. I mentioned it a while ago, but just barely. So, I am now doing social media for BringFido.com. We help dog lovers find travel arrangements. Also, our website is chock full of things do to with your dog and I've spent hours researching different dog friendly activities. Fun fact: did you know that the Applewood Inn has llama trekking? And you can take your dog with you on the llama trek. Which, I think, is basically like walking a dog. Except you will be walking a llama. So, should you be s
