Toby Mac - Made To Love

The dream is fading now I am staring at the door I know it’s over cause my feet have hit the cold floor Check my reflection, I ain’t feeling what I see It’s no mystery What ever happened to a passion I could live for? What became of the flame that made me feel more? And when did I forget… That I was made to love You I was made to find You I was made just for You Made to adore You I was made to love and be loved by You You were here before me You were waiting on me And You said You’d keep me never would You leave me I was made to love And be loved by You The dreams alive with my eyes open wide Back in the ring You got me swingin’ for the grand prize I feel the haters spittin’ vapors on my dreams But I still believe… I’m reachin’ out, reachin’ up, reachin’ over I feel a breeze cover me called Jehovah And Daddy I’m on my way… That I was made to love You I was made to find You I was made just for You Made to adore You I was made to love and be loved by You You were here before me You were

To make up for it, I'm going to dissect my Friday for you...

I have been neglecting y'all and I do fully apologize. I've begun to think that there is more to life that my blog. Obviously this is a completely ridiculous notion and I am going to great pains to correct my wayward thinking. [Side note: I just heard Mike exclaim something in the kitchen and then come into the office and go, "Hey, would you eat a steak right now?"] Yesterday was a rather good day. I got to work only two minutes late which is rather good considering I left the house ten minutes late. By 10 AM we had already eaten breakfast, discussed Evan Almighty, and played with pots and pans. The kids put on their swimsuits and I hauled the car seats out of the Mountaineer and into the Corolla. One Boisseau, one Heuser, and three Godlewskis searched high and low for the blue-and-white tote (the "swimming bag"), pink goggles, green goggles, pool toys, and kitty-cat flip-flops. I considered wearing my bikini but decided to give my new one-piece a try (mostl

Good things that happened today:

I woke up early and prayed my heart out. I had lunch w/ Mike I found out that I inherited a few small things from my grandma. I bought a new purse. God answered what I had been praying for. My Federal tax refund check came in the mail. Radiant & Relevant magazines came in the mail. Matisyahu is on the cover of Relevant. I'm sure there's much more to come... ♥Tiffany♥

Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art. Thou my best Thought, by day or by night, Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light. Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word; I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord; Thou my great Father, I Thy true son; Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one. Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight; Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight; Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower: Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power. Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise, Thou mine Inheritance, now and always: Thou and Thou only, first in my heart, High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art. High King of Heaven, my victory won, May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun! Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all. ♥Tiffany♥

"Brandon, would you please tell Tiffany that she's a flapper*?"

That was Marshall condemning me because I really haven't been to any Order of the Arrow events since I joined. However, Brandon says that I'm not a flapper*. Why? I came up to camp just to dance in the OA powwow and apparently that's more than 90% of our lodge members do. Several times, it was suggested that I should come up to COI on a Tuesday night. Tuesday nights are when Brotherhood** questioning takes place. I say I don't deserve it and they say, "It's not what you do before Brotherhood, it's what you do after you become Brotherhood that counts." I don't do anything with the lodge except dance and I cannot imagine there would be a time in my life when I could be compelled to do much more. Aside from, perhaps, helping with lodge regalia. It would be nice to have a sash with bars. I dunno. We shall see. So, yes, obviously, I went up to COI to dance last night. It was raining, it was sunny, it was raining, it was sunny. Eventually the sun st

my THREE babies

Davis Jeffery 4lbs 2oz 18 inches long 2:24 AM The new little guy was a bit early at only 32 weeks 6 days (eight days more premature than little Lauren) but Janelle says he is doing well considering. Davis will be in the NICU for about a month. Alex & Lauren are with their grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles down at Hilton Head right now and they'll be back next week. Keep them all in your prayers because it can't be easy with a pre-schooler, a toddler, and a newborn in the NICU. I guess I'll experience the chaos first hand when I return home from Boston! Please keep them in your prayers! ♥Tiffany♥

Pieces of April

Pieces of April has Katie Holmes like I've never seen her. The fresh faced Katie does not make an appearance in this move. Katie Holmes plays the part of April Burns who, according to the tagline is "the one in every family" a.k.a. the black sheep. I'll take April any day, however, over her pompous younger sister, Beth. April is as sweet as can be and, despite having been practically ostracized from the rest of her family, has invited them over for Thanksgiving dinner. April is in her rather sketchy New York apartment trying desperately to make a dinner that she's not even sure her family will show up for when her stove breaks. The movie follows April as she navigates her wonderfully interesting neighbors trying to find someone who will lend her an oven. Meanwhile the Burns family is on their way up to April's. It's a really super movie and the end will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside. April: [discussing old-fashioned turkey shaped salt

You can kill a lot of time if you really wanna put your mind to it

So, there's not much to do here. But to day has turned out to be more lively than I anticipated. I was feeling quite dreary earlier, so I just threw everything aside and pulled out the Word and started to read that. I didn't really help me with the issues that I've been focusing on, but maybe the purpose was to help me focus on something else. Day by day. Have I mentioned that I absolutely love my new Bible? The notes are so expansive that on some pages, the notes take up over half the page. Like in Colossians 1 (we're going through that in Sunday school), one of the pages is just verses 15-24 and the rest of the page consists of noes. Many notes to be had there. I love notes. I got an e-mail from Mike this afternoon! These are always nice because they're super unexpected. It made me want to read over the messages he sent me when he was on his super long trip to Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Tokyo. So I did, and it made me miss him a little more because those message

Blah blah blah

What is a girl to do with a whole week to herself? No work, no boyfriend? Write, write, write. But mostly not on here. Sorry. I've written most of the first draft of my open mic article and it says "open mic" far too many times. I'm interviewing Jacob Johnson later this week and checking out two open mic nights. Apparently the Pickin' Parlor is closed. What is up with that? That makes only three open mic nights in Greenville County. There have got to be more. If you know about any, let me know! I'm going up to Camp Old Indian this Wednesday to dance. :-) I am super excited. I can't wait to be in the regalia again! ♥Tiffany♥

How Do I Look?

That's what is on TV right now. Have you ever seen this show? I love this show. I started watching this show right around the time Lauren was born (Janelle and I watched during Alex's naps). It is such a fun show. It's always fun to see the horrible things that people wear and think that they look good. Or as is the case many times, they just don't care. Here's how it works. You have Finola Hughes (the host), the fashion victim, and three accomplices (two friends and one fashion expert). First, we are introduced to everyone and then the accomplices go through the victims closet and throw away the pieces they hate the most. Then they each get money (usually around $1000) to pick out three outfits the last of which is always a "wild card" outfit that the accomplice thinks is something that the victim should just have in their closed. The victim gets to try on each outfit and then picks one collection. She can't pick dress a, outfit b, and makeup c.

Tiffany's 3rd Quarterly Girl's Night In

Today is Tiffany's 3rd Quarterly Girl's Night In . I seem to hold one every season. I had a winter one, a spring one, and now is my summer girls night. A few weeks ago, some of my girlfriends and I were talking about how we needed to have another girl night. "Yeah," I said, "But I'm not hosting this one!" Why? Because it's too expensive. It really is. Last time the theme was tapas. Sure, I asked everyone to bring with them their favorite wine, but guess how many of my guests brought wine? Zero. Kudos to Ali for bringing yummy desert and to Sharon for bringing a dish. Sharon doesn't get to count for bringing wine (although she did bring port) because it tasted like nail polish remover. I suppose my taste isn't refined enough. Last time I spend about a hundred dollars on groceries for wine, sparkling grape juice, bruchetta, shrimp, chicken, mushrooms, etc. (You can view the menu here .) All that stuff was pretty expensive. And I was cooking for

From my inbox: Punctuation

A professor wrote on the chalkboard, "A woman without her man is nothing," and asked his students to punctuate it correctly. All of the males in the class wrote: "A woman, without her man, is nothing." All the females in the class wrote: "A woman: without her, man is nothing." Punctuation makes a difference. ♥Tiffany♥

Jesus, Thank You

Today was such a wonderful day. The kids decorated cards for their dad, we had a play date with Sharon & Francesca, and Janelle came home early! It was a good day. Every minute made the day better. Shepherding Group was just wonderful. We discussed the Truth Project a bit and then talked about James 2. (I'm lovin' my new Bible! Three cheers for massively extensive notes!) Afterwards, we shared a ton of prayer request and grouped up and went to pray. I prayed with Katie. I was thankful for her because there were things I had been wanting to talk with someone about and I was able to open up and share with her. It was so incredibly helpful. Praying was difficult though! There were dogs yapping and so the first thing that came out of my mouth was, "Dear Lord, I'm going to pray for focus. I find it hard enough to focus usually but these dogs are making it really hard! So, please give me focus." The dogs didn't stop yapping, but I was able to focus. :-) I stayed

New Bible

I got a new Bible yesterday. I ordered it off eBay (must leave feedback...) for $20 less than retail. Unfortunately, as soon as I bought it, I saw that Amazon had it for $5 less than what I had paid. Oh well. It's exactly what I've been looking for! It's an ESV with notes and info inside but not too much cluttery stuff. And it stays open on its own. For some reason, my Ignatius Bible won't stay open with much force. It's really annoying. It's edited by R.C. Sproul and endorsed by Piper, Mohler, and Dever--three of the men that spoke at the Na conference . http://www.reformationstudybible.com/ ♥Tiffany♥

Ukraine mission trip update

I just got an e-mail from Mike! What a blessing! I was rather happy as I was sure that communication would be nonexistent until he was back on American soil. He says that they're doing well and they're working at the top of a cliff that overlooks the Black Sea! There is a nice breeze all day which should make working in the hot sun a little easier for the guys. Apparently, it's really beautiful over there. I can't wait to see pictures when he gets home. Ukraine is 7 hours ahead of the East Coast, which would explain why an e-mail I got at 1pm says "got a ride to town this evening..." The place where they are working is a two mile hike from the nearest village. I don't think any of them have access to cars, but maybe someone they know does. ♥Tiffany♥

Online

So, my first article has been published. You should go see. I did the photography too. :-) http://greenvillescene.com/2007/josh-montgomery-o-cha-tea-bar-53107-2/ ♥Tiffany♥

A Link Love Forgotten

So, I used to be linked to a fellow blogger. I changed the layout of my blog and accidentally lost his information. Now I feel super bad because I know that he is probably still linked to me. And because he had a Google Page Rank of 5. Well, if you are that guy, I'm sorry for unlinking you--it was an accident--and I would love to relink you if you would tell me your URL again. Also, if you are any fellow blogger and you would like to share some link love, let me know. *Update: Found it in my email. He's back on my sidebar.*

Maybe it's just me...

....but every time I see a picture of Barak Obama, I think it's Tim Meadows. ♥Tiffany♥

Strawberry Salad

Recipe from girltalk . Yummy, easy to make salad. I made it tonight and it got devoured. :-) Strawberry Salad Salad: 1 bag romaine lettuce 1 bag spinach 1 pt. strawberries 1 can mandarin oranges 1 c. pecans, salted & roasted at 350 degrees for 7 min. Dressing: 1/3 c. white vinegar ¾ c. sugar 1 tsp ground mustard 1 ½ tsp. onion flakes ½ tsp. poppy seeds 1 tsp salt 1 c. oil. Mix and toss salad ingredients. To make dressing: Heat vinegar and sugar until sugar dissolves. Add mustard, onion flakes, poppy seeds, salt and oil. Pour dressing over salad just before serving. ♥Tiffany♥

Proverbs 21:19

Sometimes you come across a Bible verse and you get all excited. "Oh wow! Thank you, Lord. This is exactly what has been on my heart lately." The verse was the exact encouragement that you needed to hear it's almost as if it was written just for you. Other times you come across a Bible verse and, while you know that God had you read that verse for a reason, it kind of smacks you across the face. "Oh wow. That was me just yesterday." The verse was the exact wake up call that you needed and it's almost as if it was written just for you. ♥Tiffany♥

God, please bless the Detroit Pistons...

Detroit plays at Cleveland tonight at 8:30 for what may very well be their last game of the season. It's 3-2 and Lebron James just can't be stopped. But I'll tell you what, even if the Pistons do lose to the Cavs, the Cavs had better not lose to those Spurs. ♥Tiffany♥

Church-planting

Almost directly across the street from me is an old church that looks like it has not been used in years. There's a new banner out front though and it says, "Radius Church". So, I Googled it and this is what I found. Radius Church , based in Columbia, is putting in a campus right across the street from me. Well, that's kind of cool. ♥Tiffany♥
