So Much Pretty: Shopping In Gray Shorts

I already blah blah blah-ed about this shopping excursion in my last post. So, in this post, you get to see many of my wonderful poses. Sometimes, I like to tilt to the left. Other times, I like to tilt to the right. Oh, and I love to have my legs crossed and touch my hair while getting my photo taken. Yep. I'm super talented. So Much Pretty: Shopping In Gray skinnies

Love that first photo of Stargirl. Isn't she adorable? Yes. Sometimes. Becauseshelookslikeme. Ahem. Mary and I went shopping a little while ago. I got one dress because I had already recently been shopping and I didn't need to spend any money. Mary got a bunch of work clothes. So, while I was trying to clothes for the beach, she was trying on power suits. I had the BEST time hanging out with my sister. It is always so much fun. We say the meanest but funniest things to each other sometimes and it always makes me laugh.  In case you are wondering, it is no accident that she is only wearing one dangly earring. The other side had an earring ripped out once (AUGH!) and so it can't handle heavy earrings. She wears it well, though.

So Much Pretty: #tabletopday

Anne Marie came over last Saturday (Scratch that. I just realized I've had this post in my drafts and never posted it. It was a while ago...) to hang out and was gracious enough to take these photos of me before we headed out to lunch. :) We dined a Sully's Steamers, a new steamed bagel restaurant owned by a friend of my parents'. I had a to get a photo with me and Robert a.k.a. Sully and joked that now I'm friends with a restaurateur. I had never heard of steamed bagels before, but I really liked them! I guess, in my head, they'd be weird and soggy and chewy like a microwaved bagel, but they weren't like that at all. I'm looking forward to going back and I think y'all should check it out! Afterwards, we went back to my place. We played Clue and sipped on some yummy limoncello while watching "So I Married An Axe Murderer." It just happened to be on TV and it drew us it. :) We also played Dominion which was way fun. And Anne Marie

Three Things...I wanted to be when I grew up

When I was a kid, I never expected to be a photographer or a nanny. I did want to be a marine biologist and teacher like a lot of kids, but here are three of my more unique ambitions. Dolphin trainer : Why yes, this was right after I visited Sea World with my family. I thought being a dolphin trainer would pretty much be the ideal job. Profession clarinetist : Even today I can never tell you why I actually considered this (for, like, a week when I was in the 8th grade). I was never fabulous at the clarinet and after middle school, I quit band all together. (Marching band, especially band camp, sounded horrible.) Cotton candy maker : Actually, I still would like to be that. Right? Except now I have no notions about having to work at the circus. I know full well that all I need is one of those cotton candy making machine thingys. Yes, this one is still totally do-able. Happy Thursday!

Boston

I was doing the laundry while watching the news last night and I couldn't stop myself from choking up and tearing up. What saddens me the most, I think, is that a terrible tragedy is happening AGAIN. My heart hurts for Boston and I am praying for the people of Boston and those who were in the race.

What's in my April Glam Bag? (with coupon codes for you!)

Got my April Glam Bag and it is super cute! The theme of April's bag is Pretty In Pink which you know I love! If you haven't seen  Pretty In Pink,  go watch it! (Like I could resist the opportunity to plug my favorite movie moment.) Along with the papers in the bag was an "invitation" to  Generation Beauty  which I am definitely not going to. I'd give you the discount code for that, but I threw the invite away after I took these photos. This mineral eyeshadow from MicaBeauty is a deluxe sample, but it's only a teensy bit smaller than full size. I have been wanting more loose eyeshadows, but it's a super light color. This is Earth which is a light shimmery pink. It kind of threw me off that it said "shimmer powder" on the packaging. It's a pretty color, but I haven't opened it to swatch it yet because I'm not 100% sure I want to keep it. I have a LOT of neutrals already! Receive 30% off your purchase at micabeauty.co
I've never been a fan of blousy tops like this one, but when I saw it on the clearance rack (yes, all these latest posts are about new clothes because I just went shopping, okay?) I fell in love with the pattern. I'll do a close-up next time I wear it. It's a cute city pattern. There's also that bow which is the closest thing I own to a pussy bow. I take on new trends slowly, y'all! Also, it's sheer and sleeveless, but I chose to cover it with a cardigan. Giving me a very all-around earthy-looking palette. I made Mike grab a photo of me here while we were walking back to the hotel from breakfast and I'm glad I did. Outdoor photos are so much nicer than hotel-room photos. :) Obviously, I'm done shopping for right now. I'm going to do some "shopping my closet" to put together outfits that are not too crazy and not too boring. And hopefully wear something new and cute most day. We'll see how that works... so much pretty: growing out my bangs

Pretty much this entire outfit was bought at the outlets. I didn't mean to go into J. Crew but I did. I just wanted to look. And this outfit came together in the dressing room and I LOVED it. And everything was an additional 40% off. The clip in my hair is to hold my awkward bangs down while they are growing out. My awkward posing is because I'm awkward.  Oh and this photo? This is right after I asked Mike, "Does my hair look okay?" and he responded affirmatively. Clearly, he is not the right person to ask... I realize I should stick with the blunt bang look until they get a big longer but I decided to make the decision and not turn back. So...slightly awkward phase. I hear it'll take two weeks to get out of this awkward phase. I can wait it out. I'm super happy with my J. Crew outlet purchases because I got everything at Target prices. Aww yeah. And I know I'll wear the crap out of these shorts. I mean, seriously, it was almost 90˚ ye

So Much Pretty: Coral Hearts and Navy Lace

Mike and I went up to Asheville for a few days and I used the opportunity to jump-start my daily style posts. I might even post photos on those days when I have absolutely no style going on. (Lounge pants? I love you.) Oh, and what's that hanging in the closet? Tomorrows outfit post? This is my outfit from Sunday. I've been just dying to wear this skirt since I got it. It was at the J. Crew Outlet and I tried it on because it was cute and on clearance. After I fell in love, I was still having a hard time trying to decide whether or not to purchase it. I don't know what else to wear with it! But it was lovely. And there was an additional 40% off clearance. So....purchased. Perfect length, perfect fit. It has pockets. It's comfortable. It looks super cute with this navy top that I love. Fun fact about that top. I bought it last spring at the NY & Co outlet because it is an amazing top. Super soft and lovely lace accents. I wasn't sure how to

So Much Pretty: bunny slippers

I took Bella to get groomed at PetSmart yesterday and before paying, I wandered through the clearance section of dog clothes. I ended up getting her the only piece of clothing that I was pretty sure she would hate: pink bunny booties. Worth it? Definitely. If you want some booties for your dog, PetSmart currently has the yellow duck , green turtle , and black cat booties on clearance on their website. Outfit details: Neckerchief: Free with grooming & bath (so actually expensive) Pink Bunny Booties: $3.67

so much pretty: snow day!

Note: I took these photos in February but I've forgotten to post them since then. And I need to get back on the blogging wagon so I'm starting with a draft I already had. Enjoy. Worth noting that I am currently wearing a sundress FOR THE WIN. I actually brought these boots with me specifically in case it might snow. I mean, Keds and ballet flats are NO fun in the snow! So, the previous evening, it snowed! Like really snowed! We got a good two inches which is great for us southerners. The best part is that is never warmed up and the re-froze as it typical. In other words, the roads were perfectly safe the next morning! So, we went to Ikea. :) This outfit is indicative of how I mostly shop. The sweater is from Plato's Closet while the scarf, jeans, and boots were all clearance items at Target. What can I say? I like a deal!
