It was the cat's pajamas!

Okay, so I had a really cute costume for this year's Halloween swing dance. A flapper. An authentic looking flapper! No feather boas for this gal (note: Flappers carrying feather boas? That's baloney! They did, however, love furs!) Someone actually told me that I looked like a picture they had seen of their great-grandmother. Bees knees! I wore this same costume a few years ago at a Speakeasy dance , though, I must say that I wore it better the second time around. And since I never blogged about this dress, I've got to share now. This dress is actually my 8th grade prom dress . Yep! I kept it all these years without much reason, but now I know why! My subconscious must have known that I'd fall in love with doing the charleston. :) It used to be a simple long dress with two layers: the lining and the lace. I cut the lining up to just below the knees and pinned up the lace to create a drop-waist. The head scarf I'm wearing is the scarf that came with the dres

Eisley

Mike and I were on our way home from our church small group, when we passed this sign. I may have squealed, I'm not sure. I was like, "Eisley! Eisley is at the handlebar! Right. now." And he was like, "Are you sure? THE Eisley?" And so, we turned around. Yes, it was Eisley. THE Eisley . The band I fell in love with a few years ago. And, happily, we do not usually use all, or even much of, our entertainment budget, so we had the spare change to go to the show! Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me. Or even my point-and-shoot. All I had was my phone with the REALLY crappy camera. I never much cared about the quality of my camera phone because I have a real camera. I cared on Wednesday night. I was downright painful taking pictures with my phone. Though, the music was so wonderful, that I didn't care that much. Even though I haven't really kept up with Eisley in a while, I knew at least half of the songs they played! I guess they'v

Long, beautiful hair

Did I tell you that I chopped off all my hair? No? And, of course, if we're not facebook friends, then you've got no idea. (Side note, if I may? You should "like" my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/fraukuechfotography . Hope I don't sound desperate, but if you can't ask your blogger friends, who can you, eh? End side note.) Anyway, HAIR. I chopped off all my hair. I was actually only going to cut it to my collarbone. Still a decent lob off my hair, but not, like, really short. I've been talking, actually, about wanting a big change (bangs, bob, whatever) for a while, but hadn't gone through with it. Then, while sitting in the salon flipping through a magazine, I saw this picture: And I thought, " Well, that's pretty cute... " And then I thought, " I should get my hair cut like that. Maybe? No. That's a crazy idea. I have long beautiful hair." And I continued to wrestle with the idea up until I sat in the stylis
