Music Monday: Call Me Maybe

So, on our way from Folly to the hotel, I wanted to listen to Call Me Maybe . I was going to look for it on Rdio, but ended up playing something else. And then, do you know what happened? Okay, well, if you've never been to Folly, you might not know there there is only one way in and out. This means traffic. Always. In fact, you can check into " Stuck in traffic " on FourSquare. Anyway, we were puttering along when I hear some loud music coming from a car in the next lane just one car back. When they pull up next to us, some guys are leaning out and singing Call Me Maybe at the top of their lungs to me. So hilarious! Also, Mike says this is a dumb song. I don't even care. ;)

Vacation photos

I thought about sharing all the photos from our little getaway, but then I thought that might be a bit to picture heavy. I decided against lugging around my DSLR and we just took our cheapo point & shoot camera to take some typical vacation snapshots of us together. We spent a few hours on Saturday at Folly Beach. Started with lunch at Taco Boy (yummy!) and then relaxed in the sun on the beach. :) On our way to the hotel, we stopped to check out the Dynasty Murals . We got cleaned up and had dinner at Jestine's Kitchen in Charleston and it was so yummy. Sunday morning brunch at Poogan's Porch! I got shrimp and grits and it was so amazing. This is one of my favorite photos I have of the two of us. :) After our yummy brunch, we walked around the Market and then the Battery. The Market is so full of cheap clothes and costume jewelry from Asia. I know because I own some dress and jewelry like the stuff that I saw there that my mom brought back from the P

cupcakes

One of my co-workers brought in a bunch of fancy cupcakes to work today. This was the death by chocolate one. Well, that wasn't it's actual name, but close enough. There was also lemon, red velvet, peanut butter, burbon. I dunno what else. This was a LOT of chocolate. A LOT of sugar. Did I mention that I had had a mountain dew right before that? I didn't know there'd be cupcakes when I made that decision. I usually scrape off the frosting, but this time, I ate about 2/3 of the frosting. Thus leading me to what I shall call the SUGAR HIGH of 2012. Craziest sugar high ever. I'm pretty sure I could feel my blood coursing through my veins. Total spaz.

The one in which I talk about my dog. A lot.

On Monday , I won a PetSmart gift card from work, so my sweet little Bella got this adorable tee that I've had my eye on. She loves it and jumped up and down when she saw me come home with new doggy clothes. I'm SO not kidding. She's such a girly girl. A girly girl, that is, who eats grass, chews sticks, and rolls around in the dirt. Tuesday , Bella and I had a great run at our downtown park. We did a total of 4.13 miles in about 65minutes. Minus 5-10 minutes for playing around. And let me tell you....my dog actually jumped in the water. My dog. Who hates water. What made her do this? Well, obviously, there were DUCKS WHO NEEDED CHASING!!! She chased them into the water and then stood at the edge, watched them for a moment, and then jumped in after them! I was like, "Woo! Yay, Bella!" And then she immediately regretted her decision. [Seriously, if she could talk, I thinks that what she would have said.] So, she swam right back to the bank.

Other spring greenery from around the yard

Mike planted elephant ears last summer. They popped up again this March! Saw these weeds and I thought the tiny little flowers were so pretty and dainty that I got down on my hands and knees to get a good pic. No idea what this is. Is it a weed? Is it something a previous owner planted? No idea. I do like the purple, though. :)
