Um...would you like to dance?

madmenyourself.com

I realized I'm late to the madmenyourself.com game, but I've never watched Mad Men until recently. Mike and I recently started watching the first season. Apparently things in the ad world have changed since then--Mike has no bar in his office.

Game shows

I'm pretty sure that if Mike and I ever got to go on Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy (on a good night) we would totally clean house.

The Bachelorette

Okay, last night was the season premier of The Bachelorette . This season's Bachelorette, for those of you who don't know, is Ali! She is fan favorite from the previous season of The Bachelor . These shows come with all the faux reality that all reality TV shows come with, but since last season (my first) it's been a guilty pleasure for me. Though, after one show, I've gotta say that I think I like the Bachelor better. It's weird for the room to be filled with all these guys in suits. At least at the cocktail parties on the Bachelor, the girls were wearing gorgeous cocktail dresses! I know it's only been one show, but two guys struck my fancy as being guys that could be in the show for the long haul. I'm predicting that Ali will pick either Frank or Roberto.

The final rose: live blogging the Bachelor season finale

So here we are, it's down to Tenley and Vienna. Who will Jake Pavelka choose? I can only hope that Ali comes back as the Bachelorette! [ Source ] I've decided to live blog while watching. Why? Because I constantly want to tweet about it, but have issues about flooding my followers with nonsense about this show. Also I've never lived blogged before. I've got a bug in my ear and want to try it. The show starts in 15 minutes. See you then! 8:00 - Woo-hoo! 8pm sharp--it's on! The teaser is annoyingly confusing! 8:06 -  Jake: "You're not supposed to be in love with two women at the same time." Uh, yeah. 8:09 -  Mom: "Is she the girl that everybody hated?" Your momma knows something, Jake! 8:11 - Awkward = Meeting your boyfriend's family for the first time. On TELEVISION. 8:14 - Hook, line, and sinker. They're in love with Tenley....I am so shocked! 8:17 - Love the editing. You don't have an opportunity to like Vi...

On the wings of drama.

I have been watching this season's The Bachelor since the second episode and I've been hooked! I never thought I would enjoy watching The Bachelor, or the Bachelorette, because I hate the principle of the show. I hate the idea that, at the end, he makes this ridiculously hard decision between two women, both of whom he loves. I would hate to be one of those women; knowing that there is another gorgeous woman right behind me in a very close second place. I wouldn't want to be the woman that won the competition. I would want there to be no competition! And I guess that's why I wasn't ever on the Bachelor. That being said. I'm fully loving this show! Excepting Ali's sudden departure, I've been able to predict the women that would leave fairly easily. Even today, I knew that Gia would leave. I didn't want her to leave, I along with the majority of Bachelor watcher want Vienna to be gone, but I knew she would stay. My DH and I formed a theory a few ...

Bones

Ever watch the show  Bones ? I love that show. It's like my new X-files. The good-looking FBI agents, the tension between the main characters, and the weirdness and mystery behind the cases. I'd write a full-blown review...but the commercial break is over.

Obviously, they'd rather Charleston.

When people find out that I am an avid swing dancer, many ask if I watch Dancing With The Stars . Sure, I'll tune in from time to time--I'd rather be out dancing than watching it on the television, of course! This week on Dancing With The Stars, the two dances were the Argentinean tango and the lindy hop. Other than it being a very sexy dance, I don't know a dang thing about the tango. I do, however, know a thing or two about lindy hop! I did not catch this week's episode, but after finding out that some couples did the lindy hop, I went online and looked them up (and you can see them all here ) and--Wow! What great aerials and fun energy in those dances! High kicks, cute outfits--I love all of that. But...um...I'm so confused! Where was the, you know, lindy hop ? Why is it with ballroom dances, the judges are very nitpicky about footwork but with lindy (not a ballroom dance) the judges apparently turn a blind eye to the very absence of any lindy footwork? Lindy ho...

Spartans!

I've really gotta say that I am just loving this year's March Madness. Why? Look at that above. Numbah ONE, baby (well, for now)! This is only my third year of filling out a bracket and I have never come even remotely close to this before. Also, I have far fewer friends filling out brackets that I once did--only 12 on Facebook this year--so that makes it easier. Don't forget the sheer dumb luck on my part. I've got the Michigan State Spartans taking it all the way and I think we've got a shot. To be honest, I didn't truly expect it to go this far. The last two games with Kansas and Louisville had me on the proverbial edge of my seat. The next game will be against UConn and, hopefully, another against UNC. *Fingers crossed.* So, I want to know if any of you have filled out a bracket and, if so, which team you have going all the way. Tell me, tell me, tell me. I want to share the excitement that is March Madness! ♥, TiffanyAnne and in case you're curious, my ...

This is what happens when I look at something and try to make it logical. NOT GOOD.

Let us examine this adorable little adventurous gal, Dora the Explorer . Are her parents concerned for her? I would be if she were my kid. Her best friend is a red boot wearing purple monkey whose name is, appropriately, Boots. Monkeys can carry diseases, kid. But, I guess, having her own television show and all she can afford to have an immunized monkey. One that talk to boot. Get it--to boot ? Because the monkey's name is Boots? Ha-ha. Dora has regular run-ins with a fox in a mask à la Zoro . The fox, like the monkey, is also appropriately named. He is a kleptomaniac. You know--he's got sticky fingers, he likes to swipe things. Which brings me to his name: Swiper . Why is the deal with the swiping Swiper stalking the monkey toting tot? I don't know. In today's episode, Dora was chased by alligators . Two alligators . That could jump. Seriously? Her parents only wanted her to go to a soccer game and all of a sudden she's running from two alligators that really ...

How Do I Look?

That's what is on TV right now. Have you ever seen this show? I love this show. I started watching this show right around the time Lauren was born (Janelle and I watched during Alex's naps). It is such a fun show. It's always fun to see the horrible things that people wear and think that they look good. Or as is the case many times, they just don't care. Here's how it works. You have Finola Hughes (the host), the fashion victim, and three accomplices (two friends and one fashion expert). First, we are introduced to everyone and then the accomplices go through the victims closet and throw away the pieces they hate the most. Then they each get money (usually around $1000) to pick out three outfits the last of which is always a "wild card" outfit that the accomplice thinks is something that the victim should just have in their closed. The victim gets to try on each outfit and then picks one collection. She can't pick dress a, outfit b, and makeup c....

The Bachelor: An Officer & A Gentleman

That's what on TV right now only because it was what came on after "Dancing With The Stars" which was only on because it came on after "Jeopardy!" Every time I see a commercial for this TV show, I get a little bit more sick. I cannot imagine dating a man alongside eleven other women. Apparently, today, the bachelor is going to be proposing to one of the two girls, Bevin or Tessa. I keep seeing clips of two girls saying, "I love you," to the same guy. How can you be convinced that the man you are going to spend the rest of your life with picked you only because he weeded out twelve other girls in the competition? I don't know, it just seems all a little strange to me. I know why these shows work though. Because we love taking a peek into other's lives and we love romance and we love competition. The saddest thing to me is that both girls are convinced that they will be one proposed to--that they are the "winner." Expectations ...

Me + best Ugly Betty episode every + Arbor Mist. I dunno what that eqals, but it's good!

Okay, my next post was going to be about my weekend, but that can wait. I just watched the season finale episode of Ugly Betty. If you watch Ugly Betty and you have yet to watch it, don't read this! It started out really well. Betty was going on a date with Henry, Hilda and Santos were planning their wedding, Amanda and Marc found Faye's Love Dungeon, Justin got the lead in West Side Story. It started out really well! And then Charlie came to Betty's house to say that she was preggers with Henry's baby. So Henry told Betty he couldn't be with her and decided to go back to Tuscon with Charlie. But Betty found out that Charlie had been cheating on Henry with Betty's orthodontist, Dr. Farkus, for two months and the baby might not be Henry's but it was too late because Charlie and Henry were on their way back to Tuscon. Amanda and Christina got trapped in Faye's Love Dungeon together and got drunk on numerous bottles of wine and stumbled upon a red safe that...

Ugly Betty

These days, I have a new favorite TV show--aside from Jeopardy of course. Also, of course, favorite is used loosely when concerning television. I'm not the biggest fan of television or anything. Ugly Betty is great though, as far as televsion goes. " Betty Suarez is smart, sweet and hard working. The only problem is that she's not thin and beautiful like all her coworkers at Mode, the high-fashion magazine where she works. The only reason the publisher hired her to be his son's secretary, is that he thought Betty was someone who Daniel would never sleep with. Betty's hard work and determination earns Daniel's respect, as she helps him find his way through the shark infested waters of the fashion industry. Ugly Betty is based on a Columbian telenovela "Yo Soy Betty La Fea". " ( imdb.com ) America Ferrera, the actress who plays Betty Suarez is not "ugly" at all! A lot of work goes into getting her to look like her character. The hair...

Dancing With The Stars

Weekdays at 7:30pm is a special time. Why? It's time for Jeopardy! Barring certain circumstances (special dinners, soup, etc) Mike and I sit on the couch with our dinners to watch Jeopardy and call out (sometimes right) answers between bites. Well, after Jeopardy ended, Dancing With The Stars came on. I had never seen the show before and thought it might be interesting. Well...despite the boring routines, the slutty outfits, and the annoying judges, it was really good. Oh wait, it wasn't. This particular evening, the "stars" were dancing either the "bull fight" dance or the waltz. I preferred it when the couples chose the waltz because it seemed like the other dancers tried too hard to be good but to no avail. I was hoping for some nice pretty flowing gowns from the waltzing girls. But no. They were wearing very backless gowns that were slit up to here and probably double-stick-taped to their skin. If I want to watch Apollo Anton Ono, I'll wa...
