Miracle Hill #ThriftFashion

It all started off with an email from this lovely lady: Her name is Jenn and she handles the web presence and event coordinating of Miracle Hill Thrift Stores . Also, she's super sweet. :) Anyway, I got an email from her about a month ago. She'd stumbled across my blog and wanted to know if I'd be interested in being in their Spring commercial. Um, yes! I met up with her a few weeks later at one of the local Miracle Hill Thrift Stores and we started combing the racks. It's a thrift store, you've gotta dig to find good stuff. We managed to find lots of great pieces from great brands. Forgive my face in the first photo! These are a few of the pieces we found. I had a lot to try on! These were all actually rejects for the shoot, but I ended up purchasing the Forever 21 top (left) and Mossimo skirt (right). That was such a fun day. My mom came over to babysit and I got out of the house! All by myself! Shopping followed by lunch with Jenn and home again to ...

So Much Pretty: Shopping In Gray Shorts

I already blah blah blah-ed about this shopping excursion in my last post. So, in this post, you get to see many of my wonderful poses. Sometimes, I like to tilt to the left. Other times, I like to tilt to the right. Oh, and I love to have my legs crossed and touch my hair while getting my photo taken. Yep. I'm super talented. Outfit details: Urban Outfitters sunglasses || NY&Co earrings {gift} || Kate Spade necklace {gift} || American Eagle blouse {thrifted} || Mossimo shorts || Liz Claiborne purse {off-price retailer} || NY&Co flip flops

So Much Pretty: Shopping In Gray skinnies

Love that first photo of Stargirl. Isn't she adorable? Yes. Sometimes. Becauseshelookslikeme. Ahem. Mary and I went shopping a little while ago. I got one dress because I had already recently been shopping and I didn't need to spend any money. Mary got a bunch of work clothes. So, while I was trying to clothes for the beach, she was trying on power suits. I had the BEST time hanging out with my sister. It is always so much fun. We say the meanest but funniest things to each other sometimes and it always makes me laugh.  In case you are wondering, it is no accident that she is only wearing one dangly earring. The other side had an earring ripped out once (AUGH!) and so it can't handle heavy earrings. She wears it well, though.

Haul: Target + Neiman Marcus Collection

Oh, the Target + Neiman Marcus Collection. I remember walking into Target and seeing the Jason Wu and Marchesa dresses for little girls and I just died. So so so pretty. Then I peeked at the prices. OMG. The Jason Wu dress was $60 and the Marchesa dress was $100! My sister told me that a lot of the pieces were sold out on the Neiman Marcus website, but Target shoppers aren't used to paying Neiman Marcus prices. That's why there were plenty of items still on the racks. I knew I just could not wait until the items went on clearance. I just had to hope that there would be some left for me. Well, items are 50% off on Target.com and a whopping 70% off at my local Target! And there is still a lot of items available. So, I just have to share my little Target + Neiman Marcus haul. :) Skaist-Taylor Kid's Hat (Regular price $39.99, I paid $19.99.) Mike and I saw this when we were in Michigan for Christmas. I tried it on because it was silly and he actually really l...

Pre-birthday shopping

Happy Birthday, Stargirl! I just couldn't help myself. ^_^ If you think I'm being offensive, you don't know our dynamic well enough. Stargirl came down today so we could do some pre-birthday shopping. Unfortunately, our birthday this year falls on the same day we were born, a Wednesday. Since we don't live in the kind of society that gives you several days off just because it is your birthday, we have to celebrate on days that are not our birthday. Which is fine, really, because it makes your birthday last longer. :)  Our day started off at Target where I had to take this picture. Again with the belted jeans? What is this, JCPenney circa 2002-2003? We wandered around positively swooning over the Neiman Marcus + Target line and searched for the perfect backpack for moi . We also went to the terrible terrible shopping center that is Greenridge. I'd avoid it, but its home to the only Off Broadway, Charming Charlie, and Ulta in town. So, unav...

A few points about the grocery store

Why isn't there any pumpkin bread at the grocery store right now? I mean, seriously, we are TWO days away from Thanksgiving! The gravy is on sale, the Stove Top Stuffing is right inside the front doors. But there isn't any pumpkin bread? This makes no sense! On another note, anyone have a great recipe for pumpkin bread? I love bumping into friends at the grocery store. Not acquaintances. You know, the kind that you avoid their eye because you're afraid that if you say "Hi" that they might stop and it'll soon turn awkward. Oh, is that just me? Hmm... I love bumping into friends. It just reminds me what a small town Greenville can sometimes be. I bumped into a friend I haven't seen in ages and we blocked up the aisle for several minutes. Do you like it when the baggers take out your groceries for you? It always makes me feel awkward! I mean, I can make enough conversation to get to the car, but once I open the doors, I usually find myself standing ...
