“Romance novels are birthday cake and life is often peanut butter and jelly. I think everyone should have lots of delicious romance novels lying around for those times when the peanut butter of life gets stuck to the roof of your mouth.” -Janet Evanovich
So, the all the books I read this month were pretty dark. The Sadie Salt series were magic infused, but not in the delightful Harry Potter sense. It was a little bit Twilight-y, what with the vampires, werewolves, and love triangle. They also involved a badass-but-personable female lead.

The fourth book I read this month was the first in the His Fair Assassin series. I LOVED IT. It's about Ismae, a novitiate at the convent of Mortain, the God of Death. The novel is set in Brittany in the 1400s. YA with another badass female lead and some romance thrown in. Its pretty predictable but also pretty enjoyable.
