Another steam of consciousness (e.g. the worst kind of blog post)

[ source ] So, I was thinking just now that I know I need a blog post that is more than some silly picture or a cute pair of earrings I saw at a craft fair. But there is so much to say and, at the same time, nothing at all to say. Business has been good. God has seriously been blessing our businesses. Supergreen much more so than Tiffany Anne Photography, but since Mike is the breadwinner, I'm okay with that. Last year, I did two weddings as the primary (FREE) photographer and had three (paid) second shootings jobs. So far this year, I've got 17 that I've done or will do here in the next few weeks (8 primary, 8 second photographer, 1 photographer's assistant). That's a big leap from last year and I'm thrilled and grateful. I'm also seriously addicted to learning. I've got a two-inch binder that is chock full of "books" that I've purchased online (you get a PDF that you have to print off). The books are spendy, but so worth it. I...

Times Square can't shine as bright as you

I haven't been updating very much interesting stuff to read lately (read: anything worth looking at what-so-ever). And I suppose that's because what has been on my mind lately is something that I don't feel comfortable discussing on here. How crazy is that. A few years ago I would say just about anything...and do I ever mean anything. But it's changed. Another part of why I don't want to share is because I know some of the people that read this and I don't want them to take it the wrong way and be all egocentric and think it's about them. (Just because I said egocentric, it's not about you. Promise.) I even wrote a very obscure blog last night but not obscure enough to post. Ha-ha. Yay me. Across the street at Mike's old boss's house men have been working every day. Even Sunday. I think they're re-doing his porch. They've got The Buzzard (96.7) blaring on the radio. They were playing "Basketcase" by Green Day and now they're...

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

Ugly Betty was really good tonight. I went to Crossroads/Crossway/Cross-something (that Christian book store, you know) tonight to find a book that I saw on the Girl Talk blog. "Doing Things Right in Matters of the Heart." They speak very highly of it. Of course, Ugly Betty ends at 9. And I watched five minutes of Gray's Anatomy before hauling myself off the couch. So, by the time I got to the bookstore, it was definitely closed. So, I just kept going. I probably could have done a uie (according to Urban Dictionary , that is the proper slang for u-turn) and made it home quicker, but I just kept going. A veer to the right, a right turn at the new Spinx, another right turn onto the freeway and I was back in the right direction. It gave me a little extra time to think and to talk out loud and to pray. That was good. It was helpful. I'm glad that I have been able to have a teeny bit of alone time tonight, too. Even though it's far too warm in my apartment. I called t...

Early Morning Rambles (as opposed to, you know, late night ones)

I skipped yesterday. I apologize to anyone who checks my blogs as I religiously check theirs. If I do this, then you are probably: MilwaukeeGirl , TokyoPink , Missy , Esin , or FileGirl . Anyway. I think I'm going to start obsessively reading more blogs. ( If think that your blog is really cool, then leave me the link. I want to read it.) The huge list to the right simply isn't huge enough. Mostly because no one posts as chronically as my sister. Or as she used to a few weeks ago. I don't know what her problem is...maybe she got a social life or something and is now too good to blog a gazillion times a day. (Love you, Lou!!!) I went to a wedding yesterday at the Gassaway Mansion . It was very sweet. The bride was so beautiful. The food was good too, that's what Mike will tell you. After the wedding, Mike and I hung out at his place. He watched DIV II basketball ( March Madness didn't start until 4:05pm). I did homework. More logarithms...mmmm. ln(4x-2) - ln4 = -ln...

I was just wondering if someone could tell me when life starts making sense?

I'm sitting here listening to a mix of Michael Buble, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Bobby Darin. There is a thick slice of frosted marble cake next to me and I am typing between bites. I just finished a great deal of algebra homework. Just to note about algebra: logarithms aren't as hard as I anticipated; they just have a scary name. Actually, I don't really feel like blogging, but I feel like I should. Yes, I know, I make so much sense. I'm torn about so many things lately. One issue is something that I cannot do anything about. I love school--enough to want to do well, at least. What would be idea? The ability to focus on school. Just school, no work, for the first time since I graduated high school and started working at JCPenney's. I do not recommend doing this--working at JCPenney's, I mean. At least, not the Greenville store. It wasn't the best place to work when I worked there and I hear it has gone downhill since. It's funny how normal things b...

Late Night Ramblings...

I try so hard to be everything all at the same time. It is so freaking ridiculous. As I sit here, my eyes are still moist from the tears I cried over nothing. You have got to do that every so often, I suppose--cry over nothing, that is. At least, I have got to. I just finished watching your typical romantic comedy and it ended, as always, happily ever after. ::cue the awws::: It left me, as always, wanting that happily ever after. But sometimes, I forget that I am only twenty-one. (Maybe because everyone is so much older than me!) I have still go an load of living to do before I realized anything of any substance what-so-ever. I try to pretend to be older or smarter or anything else that is so much more than I really am. And maybe I am convincing myself, but it is all a lie. Right? I do not know. Right now, I guess I am pretending to be pseudo intellectual or philosophical or something. Maybe because it is almost midnight and I am tired. I got very little sleep last night due to scra...
