Folly Beach family trip, part one

I've never been a part of a family that spends the whole week at the beach. Doesn't that sound so freaking luxurious? I'd like to eventually do that, but for now, a couple days at the beach is awfully nice. We left Greenville not-quite-as-early-as-anticipated on Wednesday morning and arrived home around dinner time on Friday. So a quick trip, but still so fun!

We stopped at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and, once we arrived in Charleston, stopped by our AirBnb to unload and change. Then...off to the beach!

Do you know why plastic bags are prohibited on the beach? Because sea turtles might mistake them for jellyfish and eat them! So sad!

We bought a wagon for this trip and OH MAN! What a game changer. I had no idea how it would make the beach trip that much more enjoyable. Why? Everything was contained and the kids got a ride. If we didn't have it, we would have had to carry stuff, they would have had to help, and they would have whined because they would have wanted to be carried and I would have gotten annoyed.

On Wednesday, we only spent a couple hours at the beach, so we just parked it on our towels. The kids had so much fun playing in the sand and the waves. R made oatmeal for dinner in her pail and J added seaweed to it.

Little miss sassy kept playing with the tulle on her "soup" (suit) and saying, "Mommy! I princess!"

When we first arrived, the kiddos were terrified of the water. But they warmed up pretty quickly and made my heart happy!

After a couple hours on the beach, we headed into Folly for some dinner. I love these beach town restaurants because Jojo wasn't wearing a shirt and I was in a swimsuit cover up and no one cares!

After dinner, we walked down the Folly Beach pier. There was a boy who caught a baby shark!

Asleep within SECONDS of heading home.

And Ruth got her second wind when we got home and the kids were up playing for EVER. We ended up separating them and Jojo slept on the couch.
